John McLoughlin has been working as a Professional Guitarist since 1993, performing live, on radio, television and in studio.
Graduating from the Cork School of Music with a Diploma In Instrumental Music Teaching (Classical Guitar) in 1996, he subsequently worked as a tutor in the School, until his return to Dublin where he was employed as a Guitar Tutor in Wesley College for 14 years.
He has also worked in the Blanchardstown and Castleknock area for over 15 years in various schools, along with his private teaching.
John has a wealth of experience in a variety of musical genres including, Irish Traditional, Folk, Classical, Blues and Rock music. Over the past decade, John has featured with Irish international artist Damien Dempsey , with whom he has also co-written, and can be heard on Damiens’ last 3 albums.
He has also worked with many other artists including Gilbert O'Sullivan, Johnny McEvoy ,Sinead O'Connor, Mary Black, Frances Black, Ronnie Drew,John Sheahan, Lisa Lambe, Eleanor Shanley, Dolores Keane, Sharon Shannon, Lumiere, Sean Keane, Tommy Fleming, Wild Child Butler, Johnny Mars, Joe Louis Walker to name just a few .
He has also been involved in a number of musicals including productions at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin.
More recently John has been focusing on a new project with the traditional Irish group Duach, who released their eponymous debut album in November 2015.
